Start with your file or a blank page
The editor isn't limited to changing an existing file: choose "Start with a blank page" and a page size (A4 portrait or landscape, Letter, A5, Legal), and write your document from scratch: a contract, an application, a statement, a certificate, a CV or a price list. Add headings, paragraphs, tables, your logo and signature, then number the pages and download a finished PDF. At any point you can add pages from another PDF, an image as a full page, or a new blank page.
What can you do with this editor?
- Edit existing text: choose "Edit text" and click any line on the page. The original line is covered with its own background colour, and a text box opens in its place with the same words at roughly the same size and colour, so you can change a number, a name or a date and move on.
- Add new text in any language: Arabic letters are joined and written right to left, and numbers, brackets and English words inside an Arabic sentence stay exactly where you see them on screen. Choose the font (Cairo or Tajawal for Arabic, or Helvetica, Times and Courier), size, colour and bold.
- Signatures: draw one with your mouse or finger, type your name and pick a style, or upload a picture of your signature with its white background removed automatically.
- Shapes and markup: highlight, whiteout (a box in the background colour), freehand drawing, rectangle, ellipse, line, arrow, β and β marks, and today's date.
- Images: add a logo, stamp or picture in PNG or JPG and resize it with its proportions kept.
- Form fields: if the file is a form with fields, a "Form fields" button appears so you can fill them in, with an option to flatten them so they can't be changed after download.
- Formatted paragraphs: drag the side edge of a text box to set its width so the text wraps inside it, choose the alignment (right, centre, left), and give headings or notes a background colour. Long text also wraps automatically at the page edge.
- Tables: draw a table, choose its rows, columns, header colour and line width, then type in its cells.
- Page numbers and watermarks: from the "Document" menu, number every page in the format and position you want, or put a diagonal watermark such as "CONFIDENTIAL" or "COPY" on every page.
- Repeating items: the "On all pages" button copies the selected item, such as a logo, header or footer, to every page in the same position.
- Arranging: rotate an item to any angle, set its opacity, bring it forward or send it back, and copy and paste it between pages.
- Pages: from the side panel, rotate a page, delete it, move it up or down, or add a blank page after it.
- Autosave: your work is saved in your browser as you edit, so if you close the page by mistake, "Continue your last document" appears when you come back.
How to edit a PDF
- 1Choose "Start with a blank page", or open a PDF by dragging it onto the upload box, and its pages open in the editor.
- 2Pick a tool from the toolbar, then click or drag on the page. The properties bar underneath changes with the tool: font, size and colour for text, colour and width for shapes.
- 3To move or resize anything, choose "Select" and drag it or its corners. Double-click text to change its words.
- 4Click "Download PDF". The file is saved under its original name with
_editedadded.
Real text, not a picture
Text you add is written into the file as real text in an embedded font, not as an image over the page, so it stays sharp when zoomed and printed, and the file grows only slightly. Shapes and lines are drawn as vectors, and pages you didn't touch are carried over as they are. The editor shows pages exactly as they'll appear in the finished file, so where you put something is where it ends up, rotated pages included.
Limits worth knowing
- Editing text covers the original rather than deleting it: the old text stays in the file under the cover and can still be copied or found by searching. To remove a number or sensitive detail for good, use Redact PDF.
- Substitute fonts: the tool can't reuse the original file's font, so it picks the closest one available. In long paragraphs, letter shapes or line width may differ slightly.
- Scanned files are images with no text, so nothing shows up when you choose "Edit text". Cover the area with the whiteout tool, then type over it with the Text tool.
- Copying added Arabic text: it displays correctly in the file, but copying and pasting it may swap two letters in words containing "ΩΨ§" or "ΩΨ₯" in some programs.
- A password-protected or restricted file has to be opened first with Unlock PDF.

Where does the processing happen?
Everything runs inside your browser: displaying the pages, editing them and building the new file. Autosave keeps your work in your browser's storage on this device only, and you can delete it with the "Delete" button on the start screen. Your file isn't uploaded to any server, you don't need an account, and no watermark is added. What loads from the internet is the viewer libraries and fonts themselves, not your document. We explain how this works in How In-Browser PDF Processing Works.
Frequently asked questions about editing PDFs
Can I create a PDF from scratch with this tool?
Yes. Choose "Start with a blank page" and a page size, then write and add tables, images, your signature and page numbers, add more pages whenever you need them, and download the file. Text is written into the file as real text, not an image.
Can I change a number or name that's already in the file?
Yes. Choose "Edit text" and click the line: it's covered with its background colour and reopens with its current text for you to change. Bear in mind the old text stays in the file under the cover, so don't use this to hide sensitive information.
Why do Arabic letters break apart in other PDF editors but not here?
Arabic letters need shaping, which picks the form of each letter based on its position in the word, plus right-to-left ordering that keeps numbers and English words in place. Many editors write the letters separately or backwards. This editor shapes the text with an embedded Arabic font and orders the sentence before writing it into the file.
Can I sign a PDF on my phone?
Yes. Open the page in your phone's browser, choose "Sign" and draw it with your finger, then tap the page to place it and drag to move or resize it. For a signature with specific legal standing, such as a certificate-based qualified electronic signature, you need an official signing service.
Does the site add a watermark or limit the number of pages?
No. No watermark, no account and no page limit. The only limit is your device's memory, so very large files may be slower on older phones.
I added text to a rotated page and it came out sideways. What should I do?
Text, images and signatures are always added upright, the way you see the page on screen. If you rotate a page after adding items, they all rotate with it, so it's best to rotate the page first and then write on it.
